G&A Make Feather Boutonnieres

DIY Feather Boutonnieres

Something that has been sitting in my wedded notebook forever now are feather accessories. Custom boutonnieres are such a perfect way to bring a unique touch to a special day. This weekend, Grant and I (and when I say that I mean mostly I, thanks for helping hun!) decided to take on the project of these pretty little embellishments.

Step 1: Choose feathers and accent pieces in your colors. I used some pink pip berry garland, wooden buttons and an assortment of feathers from Etsy.com.

Step 2: Gather the pieces and arrange them exactly how you want them to look on your boutonniere. This includes trimming them to the size that will best suit each accessory.

Step 3: Using floral tape, glue spots or a glue gun bind your feathers together at the base.

Step 4: Wrap twine, or string around the base to hide the glue. (Optional)

You’re done! Just use a corsage pin to pin your boutonniere to a piece of paper and they are ready to hand out to your wedding party favorites!

Making our own feather boutonnieres was one of the easiest and most inexpensive DIY’s we chose to do! It’s a project that we decided to take on early. Since it is something that we can leave unattended, I know they will remain just as beautiful as the day we made them. One last plus for these lil guys.... compared to the fresh floral boutonnieres, you absolutely save a bundle!

With that being said, I'm off to spend my saved cash on the next big DIY project! One DIY project down, 247 days and many more projects to go!

G&A Are Engaged!

I Said Yes. But I'd like to know who would say no! It was a sunny day in San Diego, California. After a long road trip from Phoenix my love took me to a breath taking view of the ocean. He pointed down at rocks that had been formed into will you marry me! He really knows how to surprise a girl. I thought we were meeting a friend that had just finished surfing! My heart melts every time I think about it. I'm such a lucky girl to have someone so lovely that can't wait to spend forever together.

The beginning of our wedding story has been written, but all of the diy projects, little sneak peaks and upcoming wedding stories have not! So until next time,
